Deportation for ASBO breach

An immigrant from the Philippines will be deported for breaching his ASBO.

John Garcia has not returned there since he was four, and does not speak Filipino.

Nor does he know anyone there.

Some, such as Immigration Advisory Service chief executive Keith Best, think this decision is unfair.

However, the Home Office cannot comment on individual cases.

My comment:

I strongly feel John Garcia should not be deported.

Why should he become the Philippines' problem?

A spokeswoman for the Border and Immigration Agency said they did not comment on individual cases, but added: "Foreign nationals are expected to obey the laws of this country in the same way as everybody else.

"If they do not, they can expect to face prosecution and removal from Britain."

What the spokeswoman does not comment on is how foreign nationals are punished more severely than British Nationals.

A British National who breaches an ASBO will be jailed.

A foreign national who breaches an ASBO will be jailed and then deported, even if he can only speak English.

I think that's disgraceful.

Aren't we all supposed to be equal under the law?
