But apparently the effect can be more than that. Oral health of the poor can reduce a man's sexual ability (erectile dysfunction). A study of 70 men showed, the increasing incidence of erectile dysfunction in men coupled with the increasing number of chronic gum disease (periodontitis) . Four of five men (81.8%) who suffer from erectile dysfunction, also have gum disease. Periodontitis can cause other diseases such as cardiovascular disorders and diabetes. When people suffer from bleeding gums, bacteria from the mouth can enter the blood stream which spreads to all parts of the body and the genital area. Men who suffer from periodontitis tend to experience erectile dysfunction.

Why is that? Disease of the gums increase inflammation in almost all parts of the body. When inflammation in the body increases, the automatic also interfere with medical conditions such as heart disease. Complications of heart disease, obesity and diabetes cause the penis does not function properly. Therefore, maintaining the healthy of teeth supposed to be done early. Toothache can give an unpleasant sensation especially during making love. Obviously, you do not want to fool away sex toys that you have bought at HotGVibe sex shop that you want to use when having sex tonight because of a toothache is a sudden attack. So, keep your dental hygiene. The best way to deal with oral and dental disease is make your teeth and mouth clean. Although there is a deliberate delay pregnancy for many reasons, at least, they have been trying hard but always fail because they do not know the strategy.

Pregnancy naturally, not by IVF, it is only occur if done at the right time. Within a month, a woman suffered only fertile period of less than 24 hours so that every opportunity should really be used.

The following are some points to consider in order to quickly get pregnant.

1. Do it while sensitivity increased nasal
When a woman becomes more sensitive to smells around, it was a sign she is ovulating or are in the fertile period. If you want a child soon, this is the best time for sex, although probably the smell of your men would be more oppressive.

2. Patience, only 15 per cent chance of pregnancy each month
Can be understood if the woman was so excited when it tested positive for pregnancy, because it does need to struggle. A study even proved, most women in the age of 30 years it took 8 months and 140 instances of sexual intercourse to get pregnant with a chance of pregnancy in each month only 15 percent.

3. Teeth must be clean to get pregnant
Like you, I also just found out, that the terms of those conditions to get pregnant is to healthy teeth and oral cavity. Health and hygiene of this area was also noteworthy. Not only because of the smell of the mouth and fresh breath does not make man lazy to fondle his partner, but studies have shown that gum infection may also trigger premature birth or fetal death and weakens the sperm that will fertilize the egg. Therefore, keep the cleanliness and health of the oral cavity and teeth.

4. Watching porn makes sperm more powerful
Believe it or not, studies have shown that sperm produced become more powerful to swim toward the egg after a man watching porn. Uniquely not just any porn movie that could give such an effect, only heterosexual themed movies and not a homosexual (gay or lesbian). Wanna try this one? You can try to see some porn videos at bang you later. There is a porn star like Angelina Eva. After imagine playing with porn stars like Eva Evangelina, perhaps make you feel very passionate. So, when you having sex with your wife, during orgasm will give a huge sperm explosion. If this is really happening, seeing action evaangelina seem to be tried.

The Dental Phone of the Future

There are more communication tools available for the Dental Industry than ever before. Besides the telephone there are now email applications, text message services, and others.

All of these tools are very helpful but can sometimes be hard to manage because there are just so many of them. It can be very difficult to stay on top of all the communications tools when they are all separate applications.

Here is a quick example of how a typical dental office works and some of the problems they often run into. Although not all offices are the same, I'm guessing that this situation I'm about to give holds true for most offices.

Julie makes a phone call to an overdue patient who has an appointment for the following week. The patient has just switched their insurance provider and Julie wants to remind them to bring their new insurance card when they come in for their visit.

Unfortunately the patient doesn't answer the call so Julie leaves a message to call her back at their earliest convenience. Julie continues with her tasks for the day and leaves for a few minutes to pick her kids up from school.

While Julie is out of the office the patient she had tried to call earlier gets her message and calls into the office to return her phone call. The office assistant, Sallie, answers the patient's phone call.

The patient tells Sallie that she received a phone call from the office earlier that day and was just calling them back. Sallie isn't aware that Julie needs the patient to bring in their insurance card so Sallie simply reminds the patient of their upcoming appointment and thanks them for being such a great patient.

The next week, when the patient comes in for their appointment, they don't bring their insurance card because they didn't know the office needed it. Without the insurance card the office staff has some trouble with checking the patient in and it takes an extra 20 minutes with the patient before their treatment starts.

Situations like this happen fairly often in dental offices because of the many communication tools that are used and the number of people managing these tools. Glitches like this example can irritate patients, take your staff's time away from other responsibilities and cost your practice time and revenues.

Instead of the above situation, imagine a phone system in your dental practice that connects all of your communication tools into one. Imagine everything working together so the situation sounds like this instead.

Julie logs into her computer and searches for the name of the overdue patient she needs to call. The patient's name pops up and Julie clicks it to place the call and open the patient's profile.

The phone automatically turns on and the call is placed while the profile opens. Although the patient doesn't answer, Julie leaves her a message for the patients and after ending the phone call, adds a note to the patients profile about the phone call saying that the patient has switched insurance providers and needs to bring in her insurance card.

Fifteen minutes after Julie leaves to pick her kids up from school the patient returns her phone call. When the phone starts to ring a caller-ID screen pops up on Sallie's computer and she clicks the answer button to take the call.

The phone automatically turns on and connects while the patient's profile pops up onto her screen. The Patient explains that they are returning the offices phone call so Sallie checks the notes section and sees the note that Julie had left.

Sallie tells the patient to bring in their insurance card when they come in for their appointment and thanks them for being such a great patients. After ending the phone call she schedules a text message in the patient's profile to be sent out the morning before the patient's appointment to remind the patient once more to bring their card.

She then adds another note to the patient's profile that the patient has been reminded to bring in their insurance card and that a text message has been scheduled to go out the morning of the appointment.

The next week the patient receives the text message the morning of their appointment, they bring in their insurance card, and everything goes great during their visit. The cleaning takes place on time and the patient is finished and on their way in the appointed amount of time.

Isn't this how an office should work; all of the communication in an office working together to make things function more efficiently and provide better service for the patients? It just makes more sense.

Are There Disadvantages To Dental Implants?

Dental implants over last 10 years have grown immensely in popularity. There have been new composites, better methods of implantation, and better methods of fabricating the implants. This has been an exciting time in the world of implants.

Most of the excitement over dental implants is a result of advantages with having them put into place. However, there are some disadvantages to them in the United States. One of these disadvantages is the cost of dental implants. This is probably the most common disadvantages that patients will point to. Implants are body parts and you really want to make sure you have an experienced implant surgeon who does a routine amount per year. It is difficult to elucidate a definitive cost or even a ballpark cost as patients have such individual needs and difficulty with their implant placement.

However, the cost of dental implants can typically be more affordable than what is presumed in most patients' minds. One can obtain a special from the dental office, or maybe even negotiate somewhat or finance the implant investment.

Another disadvantage is that dental insurance often does not cover the cost of dental implants or bone grafting. At times the insurance may cover part of the procedure, such as paying for the crown, the abutment, or even the implant itself. Unfortunately though, one must keep in mind that dental insurance just simply is not set up for this kind of expense. There are very low annual limits and this has not changed in over 3 decades. So in reality the insurance may only cover with simply one implant, but most patients need more than one implant. Some dental insurance plan simply exclude implants altogether.

Another disadvantage is that dental implants do require a surgical procedure. The implant is being placed into your bones, and there are some very small risks that add up to about 1% for individuals. This may include risk of nerve damage, prolonged bleeding, damage to other teeth, infection, etc. This is one reason is very important to go see an accomplished dentist for your implants.

Another disadvantage is that dental implants are not made to last forever. Implants maintain sufficient durability to most likely last for 10 to 20 years. However, an implant such as a porcelain crown or a bridge on an implant can break or chip. But keep in mind that implants are really no different than the teeth without implants. Crowns, fillings, dentures, they simply do not last forever and often need additional revision work. Going to see a very good dentist who maintains a technologically modern office may help dramatically such as a great lab, the design for the implant, and maintaining the appropriate diagnosis and implant is the key to getting fitted with durable implants and minimizing the need for revision.

As is the same with joint replacements, one can lose bone around the implants that are placed. If too much bone is lost, you will need to have a replacement of the entire implant. This is another reason to us choose a very skilled implant dentist.

The last disadvantage to be discussed here is timeframe. Placing a dental implant itself may only take an hour. But it takes time for the bone to grow into the implants. This may take anywhere from 3 months to 18 months depending on the patient's unique situation. With all these disadvantages, the pros still outweigh the cons when it comes to having implants placed. It is a long-term benefit for sacrifices actually short-term, and when teeth are lost it truly is the best option is to have a dental implant.

Everyday Dental Health

Regardless of the condition of a patient's teeth or his or her dental history, everyday dental health is something that can be improved by everyone. From those who need their daily dental health habits overhauled to those who just need a little fine-tuning; it's a good idea for patients of all ages to follow a dental health checklist as they do their best to maintain healthy teeth for a lifetime. Here are some everyday dental health tips to follow:

Brush multiple times per day. This of course is the most obvious one, but it never hurts to repeat the basics. Brushing after every meal will go a long way towards maintaining good daily dental health, and brushing before bed is a must because doing so will help reduce the amount of bacteria that builds up overnight. Some studies indicate that bacteria grows twice as fast overnight on the teeth of those who don't brush before bed.

Protect and regularly replace your toothbrush. Even those who have good everyday dental health habits fall prey to leaving the toothbrush exposed near the sink or toilet and/or using a toothbrush long past the point of effectiveness. Always make sure to cover the toothbrush and tuck it away in the medicine cabinet. Leaving it uncovered and/or exposed near the sink will leave it vulnerable to collecting more germs and bacteria. In addition, a toothbrush loses effectiveness the more it is used, so make sure to replace the toothbrush every three or four months.

Limit sugary foods, but especially before bed. Everyone has a sweet tooth, but the older we get the more we realize just how damaging candy and other sugary foods and drinks can be for us. The enamel that protects teeth is slowly worn away by the acid in these foods and drinks. And that process is hastened when sugary foods and drinks are consumed before bed, even if a patient brushes his or her teeth afterward. The mouth produces less saliva during sleep, which makes it impossible to wash away the sugar from "sweet tooth" foods and drinks. If patients must have something with sugar in it, make sure it is consumed long before bed and that they brush their teeth immediately thereafter.

Floss at least once a day. This is a daily dental health habit that often slips through the cracks, either because the patient forgets or because he or she figures regular teeth brushing is enough. Unfortunately, it isn't, and flossing is essential in getting the bits of food and the plaque that build up in between the teeth and under the gumline-i.e. the areas a toothbrush can't reach. Patients should use around 18 inches of floss and have between one and two inches to work with after wrapping the remainder of the floss around both middle fingers.

Listerine Use. Listerine kills bacteria. Plain and simple. This is the bacteria we all have in our mouths that cause tooth decay and periodontal disease. Listerine is a liquid so it can get into all the cracks and crevices to kill those harmful bacteria and give your mouth a fresh start. Listerine should be used twice daily after morning and evening oral hygiene.

Everyday dental health is an area of personal maintenance that everyone can address. Review this tips and make sure your everyday dental health practices are keeping your mouth and your teeth in the best shape and condition possible!

Is It Time To Get Your Teeth Whitened?

Good dental care will allow you to avoid tooth decay and cavities. But the one thing absolutely nobody can ever avoid is a discoloration of teeth. Even if you don't partake in teeth-staining products such as coffee or tobacco and even if you brush and floss your teeth as often as required, the aging process naturally wears down the enamel on a tooth. As a result, the color of a tooth's core-yellow-ends up gradually overtaking those "pearly whites."

When, though, is it time for getting your teeth whitened? The teeth whitening needs and desires of each patient are different and there is no set standard for teeth whitening for patients. However, answering this list of questions will surely help you reach a teeth whitening decision:

Is the yellowing of your teeth making you self-conscious? There's no need for you to be afraid or unwilling to smile. Getting your teeth whitened is a fairly expensive procedure (the average cost is in the $550 range) and not guaranteed to be covered by insurance, but to paraphrase an old cliché, you only feel as good as you look. Teeth whitening is a great way to boost your appearance and, with it, your self-esteem.

Is most of the discoloration of your teeth a matter of age and the foods and drinks you consume? If so, then teeth whitening will be far more successful than if the causes are something else (such as inorganic stains, drug use and trauma).

Along those lines, getting your teeth whitened is a good idea if you have either successfully quit poor dental habit such as drinking soda, smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco, or if you are looking for inspiration to do so. Newly whitened teeth are both a nice reward for beginning better dental health and a reason to maintain those new habits!

How strong are your teeth? The color of most teeth will be improved during a whitening procedure. However, front teeth that are transparent and thinner may not have the necessary pigment needed for whitening. Unfortunately, no amount of teeth whitening can correct transparency. On the other hand, whitening will have a positive effect as long as a set of teeth are thick and opaque.

How old are you? This is one time when it's not rude to ask someone his or her age! The younger a patient is, the more likely he or she is to experience a dramatically positive effect from whitening. Teenagers who undergo the procedure can see their teeth almost or completely restored to their optimal whiteness. The degree of success trends downward the older a patient gets, as teeth begin to become yellow in the 20s before turning brown in the 40s and even darker in the 50s and beyond. However, don't let that discourage you-success with teeth whitening can still be enjoyed deep into middle age.

No matter how old you are, getting your teeth whitened can yield positive results. If the answers to these questions have you believing you would benefit from the procedure, contact your dentist today!

Oral Hygiene - Significance of Dentistry

Oral hygiene is one of the most significant aspects of physical health of any human being. Dental care too is considered to be of utmost importance in oral hygiene. There have been impressive advancements in the field of dentistry as have been in the area of medical sciences.

The Dentistry Industry has come of age and radical developments have taken place during the intervening years. In fact, the dentistry industry is an evergreen industry and is burgeoning ever since its inception. A large number of aspirants are going in for dental practice as it is one of the most flourishing professions today. It is indeed a well paid profession though the initial investment is pretty high. Dental care starts right from early stages of childhood and continues till a person loses all his teeth. Yet, people still require dental care as dentures are created for the facilitation of elderly people to chew their food.

Dentistry is a branch of medical science where specific care of the teeth is involved. A dentist's profile takes into consideration proper in-depth diagnosis, analysis, treatment and prevention of tooth decay. It would be pertinent to mention that tooth decay has a tremendous impact on the overall health of a person. Dental disorders lead to rapid deterioration of the overall health of a person.

Prevention of dental disorders is one of prime importance, since excessive delay leads to disorders leading to more serious problems, such as dental caries, pyorrhea, periodontal disease leading to extraction of teeth. In case proper dental care is not taken. It is a well-known fact that foul breath results from pyorrhea or gum disease, which puts off anybody and thus a person becomes a social outcaste.

In the west, there is a high incidence of dental diseases, which results of lack of dental care and a majority of the population suffer from various kinds of dental diseases. There also appears to be a lack of awareness among a large number of people pertaining to dental care.

The Dentistry Industry goes back to the ancient period when primitive methods were employed for every dental treatment. The earliest practices of dentistry are evidenced dating back to 7000 BC in the Indus Valley civilization, where primordial treatments were provided involving cutting tooth disorders through bow drills used by bead craftsmen. This type of treatment proved to be extremely effective.

During the earliest times, dental extractions were mainly considered to the most effective means of treatment, which provided a substantial relief to patients suffering from chronic tooth infection. While there was nothing known as a dental profession, these tasks were performed by general physicians and barbers. A horse hair was used for the extraction of the teeth since the horse hair proved to be a strong fiber and could hold on to the base of the tooth. As times advanced, various instruments were invented which led to the modern forceps which are prominently used even today.

It is essential that a person visits a dentist regularly every six months, to avoid further complications as a stitch in time saves nine, if a tooth is saved from decay, it results in all the thirty two being in tact.

Procedure For Placing Dental Implants

Dental implants are also known as teeth implants. They are titanium fixtures that are fixed to a patient's jaw, which act as supports or anchors for the placement of false teeth. There are several common types of dental implants that are available in dental clinics in Essex. These are root form implants, plate form implants and subperiosteal implants.

Dental implants can be placed in an outpatient clinic under general anesthesia. The orthodontist might also decide to use other types of sedation such as nitrous oxide sedation, local anaesthesia or intravenous sedation. Several medical professionals are used while performing this procedure, including prosthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons and general dentists. Implant dentistry in the UK is classified by the General Dental Council as a postgraduate sphere. This means that this is one of the advanced dentistry procedures, which requires additional training on top of a bachelor's dental surgery degree.

The procedure for placing dental implants in a patient's mouth is normally done during several visits of the patient to the orthodontist. Detailed planning by the cosmetic dentist is necessary in order for him to identify various structures and their dimensions, as well as the shape of the jawbone. Two dimensional radiographs are obtained before the surgery commences. CT scans are also obtained. Surgical stents are used to place the implants. A surgical stent fits over the teeth, mucosa or bone surface. A surgical procedure that utilises a CT scan is often twice as expensive as a procedure that does not, although it can achieve very good results.

A cosmetic dentist also uses a drill to make holes in the patient's jaw. The drill's speed is highly controlled to avoid causing pressure necrosis to the jawbone. After the teeth implants are placed, the flap is closed using stitches. A certain amount of time is then allowed for osseointegration (fusing of the implants and the jawbone) to take place, after which restoration (the process of placing false teeth over the implants) is done. The amount of time allowed for complete fusing is usually around 3-6 months. When mini-implants are used, restoration is done immediately after the implants are fixed. Mini-implants have a high success rate (around 94 percent).

In general, teeth implants are highly successful as a cosmetic dentistry procedure, and carry a success rate of around 95 percent. The most critical factor for these implants is the stability of the implant, since an implant that is not firm enough has a high chance of failure. Many cosmetic dentists are experts at fixing dental implants.

Simple Guide To In-Office Teeth Whitening

The quickest way to whiten your teeth is to seek an in-office teeth whitening service. The in-office teeth whitening procedure is a tooth bleaching process that involves the use of special light or the laser by the professional dental practitioners. In most cases, you can begin to see the improvement right after the treatment is done. But for a dramatic improvement in teeth whitening results, multiple treatments will be required.

Each session takes about 30-60 minutes. The following are the step-by-step process of in-office teeth whitening treatment;

    * The pumice will be used to polish your teeth. This polishing part is very crucial as it will help remove the accumulated plaque and dirt on the teeth surface. This will ensure even shade of teeth after the bleaching.

    * The gauze will be used to isolate the mouth, allowing the teeth to be dry for the rest of the process. At times, the re-tractors will be used to keep out your lips and tongue from having any contact with the whitening agents.

    * Then the gum area and gum line will be protected by the use of additional barrier to make sure that the whitening agent will have no contact with the gum.

    * After that, the teeth will be covered with the formulation of teeth whitening agents which are either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide (both will perform the whitening effect). The coat will be covering the surface of the teeth. In some cases, the use of laser will also be needed. The laser light will heat up the whitening agent; it will activate the peroxide content to maximize the whitening effect.

    * The whitening formulation will then be left covering the teeth for 30-60 minutes. The longevity depends on different cases or recommended instructions of each whitening formulation or product.

    * Once the expected shade is achieved, the dentist will then rinse of the whitening formulation of your teeth. The dentist usually recommends patients to start using special kind of toothpaste that will help desensitize the teeth.

Maintaining phase of teeth whitening is also very important. After all, you have spent good amount of money on getting your teeth white, it is a good idea to do what is necessary to keep them white as long as you can. The dentist will recommend some healthy eating habits and some changes in lifestyle to help you keep prolong the whitening effect. Some beverages like coffee or red wine will need to be avoided or minimized. Ketchup and tomato juice should also be limited or you should try to use mouthwash or brush your teeth every time you have the mentioned beverages or foods.

The Connection Between Dental Hygiene And Physical Health

Many people are not aware that dental hygiene can have a direct effect on your physical health. In fact, gingivitis, periodontal disease, heart disease, gum disease and overall dental health are all very closely related. In this article we will discuss each of these briefly to give you an overview of why it is of the utmost importance for you to maintain your dental health and get regular check-ups at your dentist.

Dental health is a habit that is not difficult to maintain. It simply means making sure that you floss daily and brush after each meal. If you are not in a position to brush your teeth after each meal, then make sure that you brush your teeth in the morning and in the evening before you go to bed. Keeping good dental hygiene first starts with knowledge and then should become a habit so you can avoid the ill effects that gingivitis and periodontal disease can have on your overall health. Talk with your dentist about which toothbrush grade is best for your teeth and ask your dentist if he/she foresees any problems with your gums or teeth see you can be proactive and take action now to prevent gingivitis. In fact, there is a direct correlation between poor dental hygiene, gingivitis and heart disease.

Gingivitis and Periodontal Disease

If you have had plaque on your teeth for any length of time or if you have not had a teeth cleaning recently, you may be prone to getting gingivitis which is a form of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease causes both infection and inflammation that targets the tissue that supports your teeth. This includes your gums, periodontal ligaments, and even the tooth sockets. In fact, plaque is the major cause of decaying teeth. When it is not removed in a timely manner, it turns into a hardened deposit that settles at the base of each tooth. Once there, it will begin to irritate and even inflame your gums. Toxins that are produced from plaque result in infected gums that are both swollen and tender to the touch.

Who is at Risk?

Gingivitis and periodontal disease can develop from simply having a recurrence of colds and the flu. Other risk factors include uncontrolled diabetes, mainly diabetes type II. The hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy will also increase sensitivity to the gums which puts a woman at risk for developing gingivitis and periodontal disease during pregnancy. Also, those who have dentures, crowns, and braces are at risk for developing gingivitis because they can irritate the gums which cause an increased risk for gingivitis. Birth control pills and even some medications also increase an individual's risk as well for gum disease. Finally, it is also common for gum disease to develop during puberty and even at the onset of adulthood because of the frequent change in hormonal levels.

What Are The Symptoms of Gingivitis and Periodontal Disease?

Many people have a varying degree a gingivitis. Those who have full-fledged gingivitis and periodontal disease will have bleeding gums even with a gentle brushing of teeth. The appearance of the gums during gum disease will be a reddish purple and even a bright red tint. Often times, the gums will begin to have a shiny appearance to them indicating that toxins and bacteria are widely present. It is also very common for those who have gingivitis and periodontal disease to have very tender gums when touched, however most experience almost zero pain otherwise. If you are experiencing these symptoms, a quick visit to the dentist will let you know if you are at risk of or if you have periodontal disease.

Gingivitis, Heart Disease And Your Overall Health.

Since 2004 scientists have made a clear correlation between gingivitis and heart disease. In fact, a study performed in 2004 showed that over 90% of individual's who suffered from cardiovascular disease also had mild to severe gingivitis. In fact, if you have gingivitis or gum disease, you now have a 25% greater risk to develop some form of heart disease. But what causes this correlation between periodontal disease and heart disease?

Recent studies have shown that the inflammatory characteristics of gingivitis also release chemicals directly into the bloodstream that are pro-inflammatory. This, in turn, will also cause a inflammatory response in the body that is systemic. Many scientists have now come to the conclusion that atherosclerosis, an inflammatory disease, may be triggered by poor dental hygiene which results in periodontal disease. Recently, the American Academy of Periodontology has voiced its concern about the correlation between dental hygiene and heart disease. In fact, the specific bacteria that occurs in gingivitis and gum disease is also now thought to cause blood clots which directly lead to a heart attack or a stroke.

Given these facts and the direct correlation between poor dental hygiene and periodontal disease, it is very important to make sure that you brush at least twice per day and make regular visits to your visits for a professional cleaning in order to remove the plaque from your teeth. If you have a diet that is high in sugar, it is important to brush your teeth even more frequently or cut down the refined sugars that you eat on a daily basis. Overall health starts in the mouth, and so it is very important to keep a close watch on your gums and look for any of the symptoms that have been listed in this article so you to what not have to suffer the consequences of having overall poor health due to poor dental hygiene. There is no reason to put your health at risk when daily brushing, flossing and frequent visits to dentist can help prevent the ill effects of having gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Are There Treatments For Gingivitis and Periodontal Disease?

Yes. First, your dentist will make recommendations for you to brush more frequently and to have your teeth professionally cleaned more frequently. In fact, if you are diagnosed as having gingivitis or a form of periodontal disease they will recommend that you get your teeth professionally cleaned at least once every three or four months in order to prevent plaque from building up on your teeth again.

How Dental Implant Technology Can Help Patients Acheive a Naturally Beautiful Smile

The latest technological advancement for the replacement of broken, damaged, decayed or missing teeth can be found in Mini Dental Implants. This revolutionary treatment has not replaced the need for conventional or traditional implants, instead it offers patients another choice. Technology has brought about the creation of smaller implants which are made of the same titanium alloy as their predecessors, at a reduced cost, making this procedure more affordable and, due to their smaller size, able to be used by a large number of patients who, until recently, were not implant candidates. Dental implants are an ideal option for men and women in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, accident or injury and wish to achieve a naturally, beautiful smile.

The Mini Dental Implant Procedure

The mini dental implant or MDI procedure is something that can be completed for most patients in just a single visit to the dentist. Your dentist will begin treatment with the administration of a local anesthetic. Once the treatment area is numbed, small incisions will be made in the gum line and a specialized drill will be used to create a place in the jaw bone for insertion.

The implant will then be inserted into the jawbone. Acting as a screw, a specialized wrench will then be used to tighten the implant into the bone until only the top portion, also known as the abutment, is visible at the gum line. The abutment connects the implant to the dental prosthetic.

Depending on whether the patient is replacing a single tooth, a group of teeth or an entire arch of teeth, a single or multiple implants may be needed. Once each of the dental implants is placed, the next step will be to attach the dental prosthetic(s).

Your dentist will then place retaining fixtures on the dental prosthetic, whether a crown, bridge or upper or lower set of dentures, which acts as a socket, fitting perfectly with the ball shaped abutment protruding from the gum line. This socket-like metal housing effectively 'snaps' onto the implant, providing a stabilized prosthetic that has the look and feel of natural teeth.

How Do You Pick the Best Home Teeth Whitening Kits

Smiling should be a "feel good" experience, but if you don't have naturally white teeth, you could be ashamed to smile. Relax, these days, a whole host of products can be found over the counter to help restore your pearly whites. So before you cover that smile, reach for a home teeth whitening kit that can help you get your confidence back.

There are so many products to choose from though, so how do you know which one to choose? Here are some helpful guidelines that will aid you in selecting the best home teeth whitening kit for your needs. Use it to help you choose the best product for you.

You can begin your search for the perfect product by talking to your oral care professional. He or she can help you decide which whether you are a good candidate for the whitening process as well as which one would be most successful for you. If you have highly sensitive teeth, fillings or crowns on your front teeth, or grayish staining you are probably not a good candidate for home teeth whitening and should see your dentist for other options to correct your smile.

Check Teeth Whitening Reviews. This is a great place to look at products. Teeth whitening reviews feature actual comments and testimonials from real users. They can attest to the results of these products based on their own experiences.

Trays and Strips are Best. Peroxide is the key component in most teeth whiteners. It is a bleaching agent that forms foams up on tooth enamel and helps remove stains. The more concentrated the product is with peroxide, along with the amount of time the product is left on your teeth, theoretically, the whiter they become. We have all seen the ads for more recently even mouth washes. However, because these products don't stay on the teeth very long, they are not as effective as other methods. Pastes don't have the immediate results like trays or strips and will only whiten 2-3 shades while rinse have barely any impact on whitening.

Brush-on products are hardly any better. These are whiteners that you paint onto your teeth that help you target only the surface area you want to focus on. These may seem ideal for consumers that have discoloration in certain areas or who have sensitive teeth. The problem is that saliva can dilute this product since there is nothing keeping it on the teeth.

Strips and trays are most effective in home teeth whitening kits as they have higher concentrations of peroxide and can be left on longer. Strips are more pliable and have greater flexibility than "one size fits all" trays, although, they can sometimes slip and be flimsy. The majority of these products suggest use for half an hour daily until you reach the shade of white you want.
